Protection
"The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge."
Devotion
In a world filled with danger, uncertainty, and evil, where can we find safety? Not in our own strength, not in our resources, not in our carefully laid plans. Our refuge is the Lord Himself—our rock, our fortress, our deliverer. He is an unshakeable foundation in the storm.
David penned these words not from a place of ease, but from the battlefield. He knew what it meant to face giants, flee from enemies, and hide in caves. Yet through every trial, he discovered that God is a shield to those who take refuge in Him. The same God who protected David protects you.
Today's world presents countless threats—physical, spiritual, emotional. But God's protection is comprehensive. He guards your coming and going. He watches over your sleep. He shields you from the schemes of the enemy. Place your trust in Him, not in alarm systems, insurance policies, or human wisdom. These have their place, but they are not your refuge—God is.
Meditation Moment
Pray Psalm 91 over yourself and your loved ones. Ask God to be your refuge and fortress. Surrender any fears or anxieties about safety to Him. Pray specifically for protection over your family, your home, your church, and your community. Thank God for His faithfulness in protecting you in the past.
