Day 7 of 21

Health and Healing

1 Peter 2:24

"He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed."

Devotion

The same Savior who healed the sick in Galilee still heals today. He is the Great Physician, the God who makes all things new, the One who wipes away every tear. In Christ, we find healing for body, soul, and spirit—healing that begins now and culminates in eternity.

Yet we must understand that God's healing comes in His time and according to His purposes. Sometimes He heals immediately, miraculously, undeniably. Other times He heals gradually through medicine, treatment, and time. And sometimes He chooses not to heal our earthly bodies, but instead carries us through suffering to display His grace and power in our weakness.

Whatever your circumstance—whether you battle chronic pain, face a diagnosis, or stand beside someone who suffers—bring it to the throne of grace. God is able to heal, and He is worthy of trust whether He does or not. In sickness and in health, let your body be a temple that glorifies God.

Meditation Moment

Pray James 5:14-16 over yourself or someone you know who is sick. Ask God for healing according to His will. Thank Him for the ultimate healing that comes through Christ's sacrifice. Pray for doctors, nurses, and caregivers. If you are healthy, thank God for this gift and commit to stewarding your body well.
