The Lost
"For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost."
Devotion
The heart of God beats for the lost. While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. While we were enemies, He reconciled us. While we were wandering in darkness, He sought us out. This is the gospel—that God pursues rebels and transforms them into sons and daughters.
Have you lost your burden for the lost? When was the last time you wept over a soul bound for hell? When did you last share the gospel with someone who needs Jesus? The mission of Christ is the mission of the church—to seek and save the lost. We cannot be content with our own salvation while multitudes perish.
Look around you. Your coworker, your neighbor, your family member—they are lost without Christ. They walk the broad road that leads to destruction. Only the gospel can save them, and God has entrusted that gospel to you. Will you share it? Will you pray for their salvation with urgency and faith? Will you live in such a way that they see Christ in you?
Meditation Moment
Write down the names of five people you know who do not have a relationship with Jesus Christ. Pray for each by name, asking God to open their hearts to the gospel. Ask Him to give you an opportunity to share your faith with at least one of them this week. Pray for boldness and clarity as you witness.
