Day 20 of 21

Holiness

1 Peter 1:16

"Be holy, for I am holy."

Devotion

Holiness is not optional for the believer—it is essential. It is the very nature of God and the calling of His people. To be holy means to be set apart, different, consecrated for God's purposes. It means living in a way that reflects His character and honors His name.

But holiness is not self-righteousness. It is not about external rule-keeping or religious performance. True holiness flows from a transformed heart that loves what God loves and hates what God hates. It is the fruit of the Spirit working in you, making you more like Christ day by day.

The world mocks holiness as outdated and irrelevant. The flesh resists it as too demanding. But God calls you to it because He is holy. Pursue holiness with all your heart. Flee sin as you would flee poison. Walk in purity, integrity, and righteousness. Let your life be a living testimony to God's transforming power.

Meditation Moment

Ask the Holy Spirit to search your heart and reveal any areas of compromise or sin. Confess them and repent. Pray Psalm 51 as your own prayer for holiness. Ask God to give you a hatred for sin and a passion for purity. Identify one specific area where you need to pursue greater holiness and make a plan to address it.
