Day 16 of 21

Unity

Psalm 133:1

"Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!"

Devotion

Unity is precious because it is rare. Sin fractures relationships, pride builds walls, and selfishness creates division. Yet when believers dwell together in genuine unity—not uniformity, but unity—it is a beautiful testimony to the transforming power of the gospel.

Unity does not mean we always agree on every detail. It means we share one Lord, one faith, one baptism. It means we prioritize love over being right. It means we bear with one another's weaknesses and celebrate each other's strengths. It means we refuse to let secondary issues divide what Christ has united.

Jesus prayed that His followers would be one, just as He and the Father are one. Why? So the world would know that God sent Him. Unity is evangelistic. When the church stands together in love, the watching world sees Christ. Are you a unifier or a divider? Do you pursue peace or stir up strife?

Meditation Moment

Pray for unity in your church, your family, and the broader body of Christ. Ask God to reveal any ways you have contributed to division. Pray for reconciliation where there has been conflict. Read John 17:20-23 and pray Jesus' prayer for unity. Commit to being a peacemaker this week.
